An Authorized Meest Partner in LaPlace

Allied Express is an authorized Meest partner. We take parcels and documents for Ukraine at our counter and send them out on Meest. Bring the box packed, or bring the things loose and we will pack them here.

Meest works out cheaper than sending the same box on your own, and the reason is plain enough. Meest holds parcels until it has a full load, then they travel together. You are not paying for one box to cross the ocean by itself.

How Long It Takes

Meest publishes two windows: 7 to 14 days by air and 4 to 6 weeks by sea. In our own experience most parcels land in two to three weeks.

Nobody can promise a calendar date on an international shipment, and we are not going to start. What we can tell you is which way your box is going and what usually happens on that route.

What We Send

  • Parcels for family and friends
  • Documents
  • Large and heavy shipments that will not fit a regular parcel

There is no weight limit and no size limit on this page on purpose. Bring the thing in and let us look at it first. If it is too big or too heavy to travel as a parcel, it moves as freight, and we work the price out from there.

Money transfers are a different business and Meest does not do them.

What Cannot Go in the Box

Some of this is obvious and some of it catches people out at the counter:

  • No firearms, ammunition, knives or anything explosive
  • No fuel, paint, solvents, bleach, aerosols or glue
  • No alcohol or tobacco without a license, no unauthorized medicine
  • No live plants, seeds, soil or animal products
  • No perishable food and nothing that has to stay cold
  • Lithium batteries stay on the ground, so they cannot go by air

What Is Covered

Every parcel goes out with basic coverage included, and it can be extended at the counter before the box is sealed.

Jewelry, documents, bank cards, glass and unprotected electronics are allowed in the box, but those are the items coverage does not reach. If a thing cannot be replaced, say so while the box is still open.

Customs in Ukraine

Ukraine lets a parcel through duty free up to 150 euro of declared value. Over that line the person receiving it pays duty and VAT. Anything with an electric motor is cleared separately whatever it costs.

The declaration is typed on our computer and printed here. Nothing is filled in by hand, so nothing sits in a warehouse because somebody could not read the handwriting. We write down what is actually in the box, because an honest description is what keeps a parcel moving.

What to Bring

  • The full address in Ukraine with the postal code
  • A phone number for the person receiving the parcel
  • An honest description of the contents and what they are worth

You can send all of that ahead to alliedexpresslaplace@gmail.com. Our team works straight from that inbox, so the paperwork is already started when you walk in with the box.

What It Costs

The price depends on the size, the weight, where it is going and how fast you want it there, so there is no price list on this page. Bring the box in, or send the details to the address above, and we will price the whole job before anything is sealed.
