Careers at Allied Express in LaPlace, LA

Allied Express has served LaPlace for over 40 years. We ship with UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS, we pack and print, we rent mailboxes, and we notarize documents. Most of our customers live here, and many of them we know by name.

We are a small team. When someone joins us, we train them on the counter, on shipping software, on packing and on the print equipment. We also send our people to industry training outside Louisiana, so you learn how other stores in the country work.

Notary Public, Full-Time or Part-Time

You must be a commissioned Louisiana notary at the time of hiring. In Louisiana that commission is not easy to get, and we know it. If you hold one, we want to talk to you.

What the work looks like:

• notarize documents for walk-in customers and for local businesses
• prepare and check paperwork before signing
• help at the counter between appointments: shipping, printing, mailbox customers
• keep your records and your journal in order

Compensation is discussed at the interview and depends on your experience and your license.

Shipping and Retail Associate, Full-Time

No experience needed. We train you here, on our equipment, from the first day.

What the work looks like:

• take in packages and ship them with UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS
• pack boxes so that what is inside arrives in one piece
• run print and copy jobs, laminating, binding, business cards
• take care of mailbox customers and their mail
• work the register and help people who walk in with a question

What we look for: you show up on time, you are comfortable with a computer, and you are patient with people who are not. A good part of our work is helping customers who did not grow up with email and smartphones, and we take our time with them.

Compensation is discussed at the interview and depends on your experience.
