Media Transfer: VHS, Film, Photos and Audio
Bring us the box from the closet. Tapes, reels, slides and old audio go out from our counter, come back digitized, and we call you when they are ready.
The transfer itself is done by After Image Video Productions, a studio that has been doing this for over thirty years and handles media going back to the 1930s. We take the drop-off, arrange the shipping both ways and hand you the result, so you are not mailing your only copy of a wedding across the country on your own.
What We Take
- Video tape: VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8, Digital8, Mini DV, Beta, Mini DVD
- Film reels: Regular 8, Super 8, 16mm
- Photos, slides and negatives
- Audio: cassettes, records, reel-to-reel
- SD cards
- Tapes recorded overseas: PAL converts to NTSC so they play on a machine here
A broken tape is usually not a lost tape. It can be spliced, or moved into a new shell, and then transferred.
One rule comes from the studio: no copyrighted material.

What to Bring
The tapes, reels, slides or cards themselves. Label anything that needs to stay in a certain order. If a tape is broken, bring the pieces as they are and let the studio handle the repair.
How Long It Takes
It depends on how much you bring and what shape it is in. We look at your box at the counter and tell you the timeline before anything leaves the store.
Do You Need an Appointment?
No. Walk in during store hours and we take it from there.
